Roland has released an update for the FP-7F. The first thing I tried is checking if the problem when sustaining the second voice in the piano group still cuts the strings abruptly is still there, and it is still there. If you find out what has changed (except from the expression pedal thing mentioned in the release notes) please let us know.

Hey friends, been absent for a while. Thanks for this post. Since I'm not using an expression pedal, I am not sure if the update is justified. If anyone else finds another key difference, I'll be very thankful for any extra information!
Thanks again, Rafa.

Has anyone been able to open the disk images (.img files)? The the "diskimage.txt" file has this in it: datarom2.bin /dev/nor0 0x000C0000 0xd881
loader.bin /dev/nor0 0x000E0000 0x8891
a.rom /dev/nor0 0x000F0000 0x72fb
datarom.bin /dev/nor0 0x00480000 0x44f7
DATAROM/diskimgsum.txt /dev/nor0 0x004Bfffc 0x00fa
DATAROM/disk0.img /dev/nor1 0 0xa200
DATAROM/disk1.img /dev/nor2 0 0x9155 The files "a.rom" and "loader.bin" have this at the start: The file "datarom.bin" has this at the start: RolandFP-5 N±Q®11-10-003
...
stlrom.bin The file "datarom2.bin" has this at the start: RolandLX-10 N±Q®11-10-003
...
fix510.bin The file "disk0.img" has this at the start: FAT32 ... This is not a bootable disk. Please insert a bootable floppy and press any key to try again ... From the above "/dev/nor0" is interesting, possibly targeting NOR Flash? Any imbedded programmers here? Does this look like it could be for Linux?

I had a look at the V-Piano firmware image a while ago. It, the FP-7F, and a few other models run TOPPERS/FI4, a small embedded operating system, which appears to be based on the, in Japan, very popular ITRON codebase. The command interface uses many Unix conventions, but that's where the similarity ends. http://www.toppers.jp/fi4-kernel.html
