Howdy, all!

I posted a couple weeks ago re. a Yamaha P120, which I didn't buy because the owner wouldn't take less than $500. So now I'm looking at a Yamaha MM8 that comes with a stand and is in great shape (according to the owner; I'm going to look at it in a bit).

Asking price is $450. Assuming good condition, is this reasonable?

Intended use is silent practice for me (intermediate) and a main floor 'starter' for my 6yo twins, supplementing our acoustic upright in the basement.

Thanks in advance!

$450 is a good price for an MM8. I don't like the piano sound, but some of the non-piano sounds/features are good, and just for silent practice and 6 year olds, with a real acoustic in the house, it should be okay, But if you don't care at all about the non-piano features, for $450 used, you should be able to find something that sounds better. I would guess the P120 probably had a better piano sound. Though at $450, it would probably be easier to get your money back out of the MM8.
