I sold my Steinway K-52 and I must say I was lucky in that it only took about six weeks. I did want the N2 but was seriously considering the N3. I think seeing Randy Waldman play the N2 on the Keyboard video review helped me decide on the N2. Having such a small house and the price were also major factors and the store happened to have a floor model so I was able to save more than $1000 from a new one and I liked the action very much. I can't wait until it gets delivered next week.

I also was able to A/B an N1 since they were right next to each other. I'm no expert but the samples sounded the same. I asked the salesman to play the N1 and I was hitting the same notes on N2. I never believed Yamaha would of spent any more money to produce a better sounding lowest-price model but since Yamaha likes to keep secrets I had to try it for myself. I even asked the salesman if the case is wood and he didn't know. It doesn't matter but I'm just curious.

In the end after selling my K and buying N2 I have more than 1/2 the money I need to upgrade my Triton Extreme with a Kronos but I'm not rushing into that for a while unless I find a used one.

Sweet. Sounds like you got a really nice and useful instrument at a good price and also got some money left over for other projects. That's a win!

I was just talking with an N2 owner who was saying the speakers on it are really nice. Good for you. Enjoy!

36251, is 14736251 part of your extended family by any chance?

Congratulations on your purchase! Bear in mind if you have a cat, he or she might find the speaker grill of your N2 attractive.

You might have mistyped your comment regarding Randy Waldman and his playing of the N2. He played the N3 on the Keyboard Magazine video.

I compared an N1/N3 side-by-side with and without headphones. With headphones they sounded exactly the same to me.

I never got a chance to compare an N1/N2 side-by-side. Did you notice a large difference in speaker quality? The N3 sounded much better to me than the N1, so I was wondering if the N2 sounds closer to the N1, or the N3, or somewhere in between.

Not a chance! He is the last of the three pianists who play and the next to the last video of the series, he is introduced to the N2 by the Yamaha rep and as he plays it, his facial expressions seem to show that he'd really like to have one. He even jokes about taking it right there with his wife/gf to his car. Check it out.

I'm sure you're correct but I can't find the link where he's playing the N2.

EDIT ... Even though I'm sitting, I stand corrected, I found the video.
