Hello all,

Long time no post, but still an avid reader of the forums.

I seem to have stumbled upon a problem with my 6 month old Kawai K - 5.

After playing the piano a few days ago, I noticed one of the keys was not responding at all. It wouldn't produce the same amount of volume if I had applied the same force on another key. I then decided to check all the other keys and stumbled on another key which had the same problem... \:\(

Both of these keys seem to be... "loose" for lack of another word.

The keys are the F key and the A key just above Middle C.

I was thinking of calling the piano dealer and asking for his opinion tommorow but just thought I'd ask everyone here before I cause a big fuss over something which might be trivial indeed. f it is indeed a major problem what do you think would be the best course for action?

Would this be covered under the 12 year warranty that came with the piano? Can this be fixed easily?

If it makes a difference, it's near the end of winter over here.

Another problem I thought you guys might be able to help me out on is the fact that whenever I play the piano in the middle register, (mostly a few keys just below middle C) it produces a weird 'buzzing' sound which can be quite annoying. It feels to me that the cabinet or the soft-fall cover is vibrating at its natural frequency...

I once pointed this out to my tuner and she didn't really seem to know what to do. She just merely said that it was the piano cover that was vibrating with the cabinet and I could nullify this by putting a piece of cloth at the contact point...

Hope I didn't lose you guys in all of this \:D

Thanks in advance and I look forward to everyone's replies!

Pianos have thousands of moving parts and this is most likely a reaction to the seasonal change in humidity that is happening right now.

Most techs. and dealers would make simple adjustments like these without additional charges if they are already there to do a tuning. If they make a special trip, there will likely be some charge.

If this is not because of a breakage of some kind it is unlikely it will be covered under a warranty.

Let us know what happens,
