I grabbed this entire thread and massaged it (search & replace, much hand editing) into an Excel 2003 Spreadsheet:

I removed all hyphens and white space in the model numbers, then did a sort based on:

1) Make
2) Model
3) PW User Name

If anyone sees glaring errors in it please let me know and I'll fix it. (I've had the Excel sort function malfunction on me in the past and I've never really trusted it since.)

My pleasure! It took about a day all told, mainly due to Word's lame search and replace. The minute you need to use wildcards you give up the ability to search for hard returns. Macros are kind of a cruel joke - overly complex and so too painful to use unless it's that or shoot yourself in the head.

I miss Wordperfect for DOS, which was super simple yet ironically much more powerful when it came to this type of editing. You could search for something and then select everything to the end of the line, or the beginning of the line, or the end of the document, etc. I also miss AMI Pro, which made WYSIWYG document creation a breeze. I've used Word for going on 20 years now and much of it still strikes me as needlessly awkward.

There's still Unix. Or Linux. Or Cygwin (for free) on Windows.
You could pilot a starship with grep and sed.

By the way ... I have a similar spreadsheet, which includes the older prices-paid thread ... if anyone's interested ... with 668 entries.

You could built and pilot the starship with Perl, but the code would be impossible to read.

But to make it truly intelligent, you'd have to write it in LISP ... and it would be IMPOSSIBLE to read.

Eduard: The CLP-230 model went out of production in 2008, replaced by the CLP-330. That, in turn, went out of production this year, replaced by the CLP-430. So it surprises me that you were able to find a new one. Also, I didn't know that they offered that model in the PE finish.
