Avantgrand piano bench question

I'm getting a floor model N2 and the salesman said the bench is the same as the one that comes with N pianos. It looks the same except it only has a knob on one side to raise and lower. I'm wondering of those who bought brand new if your bench has the knob on both sides or just one?

I bought the N2 new a month ago, and the bench they gave me has a knob on just one side. Since I'm not ambidextrous, I doubt I'd have noticed that if you hadn't raised the question.
I just took a quick look at the owner's manual, and it appears that whether a bench is included with the AG depends on the local practice -- it's not automatically included as a matter of Yamaha sales policy.
I'm such a noob that I didn't pay much attention to the bench question. They might have given me what goes with Yamaha grands, or it might be something the truck driver found orphaned in the shipping area.
In any case, the bench I was given seems perfectly okay, but nothing special.

The one I'm getting is the same. I like it. You just got to keep on your toes when a salesman tells you something. (i.e. - "oh yeah, those scratches come that from the co.")

Now I feel cheated. I didn't ask for a new bench nor was one offered.

That's odd. Other than the cheapest keyboards, I though all pianos came with a bench. (Not that it need be a good one. My Clav came with the "standard" Yamaha bench. Sturdy, but nothing special.)
I would have assumed that a high-end piano such as the N-series would come with an even better bench. Well, you know what they say about "assume".

I saw my AvantGrand N1 being unpacked. It included a non-adjustable padded bench (that flipped up to store books).

I saw my AvantGrand N1 being unpacked. It included a non-adjustable padded bench (that flipped up to store books). Since the N1 is the lowest price of the three they just include a non-adjusting bench. If you go to this link http://www.curtisyee.com/avantgrand/ you can find pictures showing the bench I'm talking about. There are some great videos of Alicia Keys and you can see the bench only has one knob. Of course this isn't an artist bench but I'm glad it comes with something a little different from a wooden slab, which I've always owned. I've got too much time on my hands waiting for it with these emails I'm writing.

When I bought my N2 off the dealer's floor in July, it came with the same single-knob adjustable bench.
When I was in the store a couple of months later, he had replaced the N2 he sold me with an N3 - but curiously, it only had a typical non-adjustable longer style bench.
Go figure...

The owner's manual, at least mine, states that the inclusion of a bench depends on the location of the dealer ... or something like that. In the US you guys have a five year warranty, over here, three years.

Go figure... My N3 came with an adjustable Yamaha bench but I don't remember if it has a knob on the left side or not (I'm not at home to check).

My N3 came with adjustable bench. I believe it is called Artist Bench. One knob, on right-hand side. Single knobs are always on the right, aren't they, since the majority of users are right-handed?

Couldn't you just rotate it 180 degrees and have the knob on the left? Every bench I've seen has been symmetrical in terms of sitting on either side of it.

Technically yes, you could position the bench backwards, but then the "Yamaha" name would then not be visible.
