Sorry about the repost, but I accidentally posted this in the regular piano forum first.

Anyway, I was back and forth between which digital piano I wanted to get. I was looking at some cheaper models but the kawai CN-23 was recommended for me with a price of $1799. The piano store just called and said they got a few in and I just went down to play it. It was very nice. Then he showed me the cn33 which was even better but a little out of my price range ($2299). But i can't even get started on that. lol

What I was wondering is if anyone can anyone give me some opinions on this piano please (cn23)? Is it worth the money to you? Or should I go for something cheaper like a Yamaha YDP-161 for $1499. Or is the cn33 a much better deal.

Thanks for opinions!

Where are you located? The dealer's pricing is way out of line with what the rest of us have been paying as of late.

The CN33 in rosewood is $2199 right on Kawai's website.

Shop around!

And yes, the CN33 is worth the upgrade over the 23 IMHO.

It was the black CN33 in the store which is also $2299 on the website but that rosewood one for $2199 seems like a deal.

Differences :
- better UI (try to set happy chord + metronome tempo 80 in 3s in CN23)
- better speakers (warmer sound, more dynamic and defined) (2*20W 16cm vs 2*20W 12cm)
- better connectivity (audio in / audio out) and usb import / export
- more sound, with split (some region with one sound, other with another), balance slider for dual sound (when you mix more or less 2 sound together)
- double escapement (let-off)
- plus other things

More versatile and confortable use. But basically the same action / sound. If you are in a budget, Kawai CL-36 share the same spec, in a more compact and modern console style, but cheaper than CN-23.

For me cn33 is a more valuable and futur proof choice (if you intend to try Software piano one day).
