Player systems - damage a piano?

I looked at a nice baby grand used, but it has a player system (CD's I believe) that I have no interest in.
Do installers have to do surgery on the keybed or keys to put in actuators?
How completely is an installation reversible?
Any thoughts appreciated.

Yes, some "surgery" is performed, however it has no effect on the instrument once removed and adjusted.
