Betty Buckley and her pianist and arranger Christian Jacob chose the Estonia concert grand from our C&A department this week for her new album. This is very cool because it's a recording with piano, bass and drums only and we'll all be able to all hear the piano clearly. The engineers at the Sound Factory in Hollywood told me it put their house piano to shame. I heard some of the cuts and the recording is magical. It will be out mid 2012 called "Ah Men: The Boys of Broadway". For those that don't know Betty was the original Grizabella in "Cats" and has a ton of Broadway credits. I'll keep everyone posted on when it's released. Betty Buckley recording session featuring Estonia

In my youth, I worked as a TV producer putting together TV commercials for advertising agencies. I cast Betty Buckley to do a "demo" of a shampoo commercial. By the end of the day shhoting the spot, I was completely in love. She was SO NICE to work with. And who knew where her career would go?

So this wasn't really about the pianist who was mentioned in passing. It's clearly yet another Estonia Ad - nothing more.

Which normally wouldn't be a bad thing except in this case there's talk about a recording session, but there's no audio, we don't get a preview of the result. C'mon Glen, can't you give us a 30 second sample?

So this wasn't really about the pianist who was mentioned in passing. It's clearly yet another Estonia Ad - nothing more. I think it was pretty clear that Glen's original post was about the piano and not about the performer. You didn't exactly decode any hidden message/agenda within the post. It's always good to hear when a piano brand other than Steinway and Yamaha is featured in a recording. Can anyone estimate how often a non-Steinway/Yamaha piano is used in a recording? Less than 5 percent, perhaps? And please don't get me wrong -- I'm not complaining about the use of Steinway and Yamaha in recordings (I respect both brands very much). I'm just curious.

Roger it is simply sharing something that was very cool. Take it as you wish.
Steve I'll ask her people if they can share part of a track with us.
Brent, that's why I thought this was news worthy.

I wish all recordings including radio broadcasts would include the piano make and model cuz I'm always curious.
