Has anyone played around with the latest update to the Atlantis module and the engine update released last week? Opinions?

There is a free 40-day trial, and I thought "Hey, I can try something new for the month!"...

...that lasted about 15 minutes, then fired up Pianoteq again :P

It's TruePianos 2.0 that we are waiting for, isn't it? I think the 1.9 release that just came out is essentially the same as what was available before in terms of sound. Is that wrong?

I haven't tried the Atlantis module because only the diamond (their least good module) comes with the trial. Kind of a strange choice on their part, if you ask me.

I thought it sounded better than PianoTeq, though.

Thr newest demo (v1.9.3) includes only the Atlantis module, and is a preview of v2.0 technology.

I've evaluated the demo for a few days, and I think it would make a great live rock/country piano, but I can't see myself tracking with it (although Nashville session heavyweight Steve Nathan has been using Atlantis in demo rooms around Nashville in lieu of Ivory II, and many engineers/musicians he works with like the sound of Atlantis more than Ivory).

Also, 4Front is having a 30% Christmas sale, and the software comes with free updates for one year. Thus, as long as v2.0 is released within a year, a current purchaser would have a free update to v2.0.

I will be curious to see what the other v2.0 modules sound like.

Well, I just purchased TruePianos and ..... I hit the Jackpot !!!

I found the Diamond (Jazz) sound is almost perfect for the sound I like. The other ones ... not so much. But I only need one. I could not be happier.

Of course, I have to temper my elation with the knowledge that my "ear" has proven to be a fickle judge of the sound I "like" in the past. I hope not.

I downloaded the trial version and it had Atlantis in it as well.
I have a question for you, do the Reverb sliders change position automatically when you click on different Presets within a module?

Not as far as I can tell. I tried it within the DIAMOND module ... going between ROCK, CLASSICAL, JAZZ and my reverb settings stayed put.
