Hello,
I have question to grand piano specialists, I have a Bechstein grand piano from the late 19th century (1891 to be exact). I want to know if it is possible to make the legs higher so that the keyboard can be raised? I'm not sure if it is older pianos, but they seem to be lower than modern grands. My piano is 100 cm high (key height 71 cm). I've added some castor cups (the biggest that I can find) and the keyboard is still low. I'll try to send some photos. Thank you!

Put something else under the castors. Simple, cheap and effective

Good idea from Monaco. Be aware that the pedals follow the piano up!

God point. You might need to put something under your heels so your foot feels right on the pedals.

You can lower the bench, if that doesn't put you too far away from the keyboard.

I've managed to raise the piano of about 3cm, by cutting 5 pieces of cardboard and carpet. Thank you for the advice. Dave B, my bench does not go lower than 46 cm and if I sat on a lower bench I could have my kees higher than my buttucks "Glenn Gould" style! It's funny how perception of height changes according to the size of the room!
