I got a piano as a Christmas present.
It is a Yamaha upright piano.What I want to know is when and where it was made.
The serial number appears inside the sound box (like all of the others).The serial number is #350490 and it appears in the middle,down the Yamaha logo.On the right side it says "Nippon Gakki" and U1.

I also want to know how worth it is.

A six-digit number with no letter prefix would make the piano pretty old. The number you've posted would be late 1964 manufacture.

U1s were made in Hamamatsu, Japan in 1964, just as they are today. It's the smaller uprights that Yamaha has made (e.g., the United States) or does (e.g., China) make in other countries. U1s are good solid pianos among the 48 inch uprights with a long history of reliability and easy tuning.
