I usually select the option so that I should be automatically logged in to PW. If my computer shuts down improperly(usually because it freezes so badly I have to shut it down using the start button), when I go to PW it says I have to log in again.
Trouble is when I do this usually it doesn't quite work. It looks like it's working(the screen swtiches to my choice of color), but then when I click on a thread it goes back to saying I'm not logged in(and the screen color changes to the default color). The only way I have found to get around this is to shut down the computer and start from scratch.
My apologies ahead of time if this question reveals my extreme lack of computer skills.

This has happened to me before. I believe it is a problem with Internet Explorer, for when I switched to Mozilla Firefox, and later to Google Chrome, I never had that problem.
I don't know how to get around that problem, either...

Using Firefox, I do not have this problem. The only problem I have is an occasional wait "waiting for PianoWorld.com.," and it usually comes after editing a long post. While the wheel keeps spinning, I sit here with bated breath wondering if my whole post is going to end up being deleted - as if I have such important things to say! Regards,

Sometimes it has to do with corrupt cookies. Try deleting them, or just delete the PW cookies if you prefer.

Regards, With long posts, use the copy function to copy what you say, so if something bad DOES happen, you can paste it. That happened to me once, and I have copied everything I type right before I post. Whenever it happens again (it's usually a silly mistake on my part, by the way), I can just paste everything I typed as if nothing ever happened.
