Hi Recaredo! It's good hearing from you. It's morning on this side of the Atlantic. I am home for the holidays. I'm just getting my morning coffee. I'll be listening to the organ Tocatta in a few minutes. You know I love organ music.

I'm not sure about what I want to post today. I'll be back with something shortly.

Recaredo, I loved the Toccata. I had not heard this before. I rarely get to listen to some of the later organ composers. Thanks for introducing me to Widor. You've turned me on to some interesting music Dude! I'm still reviewing information about Flamenco.

Anyways, here's something from Pachelbel.

Toccata and Fugue in D Major

Grffin, that was a lovely piece of music. I especially liked the part of the fugue.

Glad to see you are still interested in Flamenco. Here you are the best of the best: Camarón de la Isla and Paco de Lucía.

!Que un buen regalo mi Amigo! Gracias

What a lovely gift my friend. Thanks! I don't trust my meager Spanish, so I figured I'd better translate what I mean into English grin.

I remember his voice from some of the Christmas music you shared. I have never forgotten it. Please continue to post Flamenco anytime you can share. I love learning more about it.

Thanks again Recaredo.

Indeed, good posts all round folks, and most enjoyable, I have listened to them a couple of times!!

I have been a little absent though due to an adaptation of Dorian Gray that was on telly till late ish.
I love that story , i dont know how true to the book it was, as ashamedly I have not read the book, but will do soon.

Time for some NICO, and heres the first "the fairest of the seasons"

I've got nothing to post really today because I've been busy on a home improvement project but this organ music is reminding me that I have to make my parents find their old reel to reel which my dad claims still works so that I can hear the recordings they made in the 70's of my great grandfather playing pipe organ at his church. It would be cool to hear him making music because most of what I remember of him is his playing tricks with his hearing aids.

I'll figure it out eventually.
Until then you may want to keep a safe distance.

Well Wayne is seriously missing!! Surely your mot meant to be still enjoying christmas are you folks?
Technically I dont know quite when to stop enjoying christmas.

Anyways, this is the English band from stoke newington London.,called sons of the desert, dont mix them up with other bands of the same name... they now reside in france where they have a restaurant and do musical evenings....

Hi Rossy! I'm just stopping by briefly right now. I'm hoping I'll be able to post later today. I'm thinking more about New Years Day, than Christmas. We always avoid the crazy New Years Eve celebrations outside of our home. Instead we visit with friends and go out for a meal on the first of the New Year. I'm done with Christmas!

I'll be back later.

Ah excellent news griffin, christmas is officially over then... Time to look forward to Australias new years eve fireworks displays as they seem to be the best at it!!!

I do hope wayne is OK tho, maybe he is busy or he is up to something again.
Sometimes wayne is up to something and we only find out about it later.
He was going to do a song with his niece, maybe he is working on that..

Mrs R says "christmas is over when you take the tree down" well, one year our christmas lasted till june, because , yes you have guessed , we just couldnt be bothered to take the tree down and we liked the lights on it. It leaves a sad hole in your living room when its not there.

Here is a joke:

Mr. Jones goes to the doctors.
The Doctor says "Mr jones , you really have to stop masterbating"
Mr Jones says "why?"
The doctor says : "because I need to examine you"

Hi!

Here Christmas is over when The Three Kings arrive on January 6.

I’ve spent a delicious afternoon with my old high school mates. I hadn’t seen them since long time ago, some of them since I left the high school. A lot of thoughts have come to my mind. But the most important ones are, by far:

- Those who were really pretty girls, now they are really pretty women.

- Those who were not really pretty girls, now they are attractive women.

Very interesting.

So these things have reminded me the music of that age.

WOW little blue, a fellow lunch-out!! ( as regards the tree!)
Recaredo, another way of looking at it is this.....

To keep yourself young, just keep repeating the follys of youth.

BeccaBb , we will miss you whilst you are absent and allthough we may cry a bit, it is only with tears of joy at the hope of your swift return.

In the meantime, we will keep your seat warm, so to speak.

And just where is Wayne? I mean , he gets his piano tuned, and forgets all about his friends that stuck by him when he had an out of tune instrument.

Unless he got some bad food poisoning over the festivities... oh no.

Happy new year to everybody!

We are going to celebrate this night at home so we’ll have the twelve grapes with the family. I love this tradition. In the last twelve seconds of the year, we have one grape a second, with the strokes from some famous clock.

I've found this video of other year.

Recaredo, this is obviously some attempt to kill off elderly relatives, Surely you dont expect gran to eat one grape per second for twelve times??? She might choke...
Or is this an attempt by grape sellers to get rid of old stock?

Sounds a lovely ( if slightly dangerous) tradition, and one day when rossy comes over, he will do this tradition with you all!!!

Happy New Year everyone! We've still got a ways to go on this side of the Atlantic before that magic hour. I'm preparing a special dinner tonight for the other half. I can't post today. I'll have some Sunday classical postings, however.

Glad your Okay Griffin, even though a bit busy... Apparently tonights fireworks at the london eye are meant to show the world: "how we know how to party" in respect of the coming olympics....

well righty oh, as if the government know how to party:: jeezus....

Every decent party I have ever been to has ended with some sort of police prescence trying to stop the festivities....

Killjoys... tighten your belts folks for the next year at least, whilst the government spends billions on the olympics that none of you will be likely to get a ticket for......

anyways they are about to happen...lets see if the powers that be know how to party..... hold my breath....
