laugh OK.

1. I intend to start my daily practice with 10 minutes of scales & arpeggios.

2. I'd like to work through Level 5 of Celebration Series Perspectives. Get to Level 6 if I complete Level 5.

3. A couple days ago I dropped my YMCA membership. I think I'll do 10 minutes of yoga daily and a 20 minute walk most days.

It seems that the biggest changes are things that I didn't plan though. Like coming across a baby grand piano that was just right for me and purchasing it this year. And attending an RCM workshop and being influenced to check out Celebration Series materials.

So I hope to attend workshops as they arise, and frequently check in at the Steinway dealer just to see what's up. Now that they sell sheetmusic I have a great excuse to go there. I went today for a couple of method books and played a memorized piece (Canoeing: Amy Beach) on a Boston grand.

I wish you well with fighting cancer.

Now my plans seem so small.

Still, here are two more goals:
1. I want to keep 2 pieces memorized (that I memorized in 2011).
2. I plan to polish a collection of pieces that I had worked on with my teacher but have not yet polished.

One of my teaching resolutions is to do a better job of introducing my piano students to the full spectrum of piano playing. They are all working on piano duets right now and next I plan on teaching them how to accompany a singer. Not sure what I'll do after that.

I also want to broaden their music perspective, as most students are not taking lessons to learn solely about the piano, etc. Right now they are working on composition projects that are taking FOREVER! but when they finally wrap up, everyone will learn an opera theme. Then perhaps learning a portion of a piano orchestral part (just for fun, nothing too hard to handle), some American folk songs, a few jazz standards, etc.

It's hard to fit in everything you'd like to do though, isn't it?!
