Currently working my way through the op 142 #3 Impromptu of Schubert - was doing some web research and came across this person, Valentina Lisitsa. Anyway, I've now listened to this a few zillion times and thought I would pass it along. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8YFX-XQLToE

I ordered her Chopin dual disc set the other day. She's one of my favourite pianists. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fW0Y3M4EJ4M

I'm clearly out of it - did not realize there was an LP wave on the go!

Metal bands have been releasing vinyl for decades. Not classical musicians. Not in the last few decades anyway.

I'm clearly out of it - did not realize there was an LP wave on the go! A small wave, no surf. Jarvi and his orchestra just came out with a fresh complete set of Beethoven symphonies. (See here . Gustavo Dudamel is about to record some Mendelssohn with DG on vinyl (their first in 25 years). And as I mentioned so is Lisitsa. Makes you wonder about marketing strategies in the classical world.. I think that most of these do come up with an audio CD, but the key is a revival of the analog recording process for classical music.

Ah so did I. It arrived yesterday.
Have you noticed the typos on the cover yet? :P Mine hasn't arrived yet! It usually takes several weeks for Amazon to ship stuff to me.

There were comments on her videos saying that she passed away when a she was hit by a lose key from a piano while visiting a piano warehouse....
I do hope that it is a hoax. I very much doubt that is true. One of her most recent YouTube comments: @brunopiccinin I am home in North Carolina, practicing :-) Happy New Year to you too !!!! ValentinaLisitsa 19 hours ago
