I came across a professional framed photo of myself with my harp (a photo from 18 years ago). The size is about 8"x8".
I'm considering whether to hang it up in my piano studio (or the dining room which serves as my waiting room for parents).
Do any of you display a photo of yourself? Is it tacky or too self promoting?
It's just an important part of my music history now, since I have no motivation to play harp anymore. But maybe a piece of history I'd like to keep alive in this small way.
Any thoughts about it would be appreciated.

Thanks for your response PD. For now I propped it on a bookshelf in my living room, waiting to get the nerve to hang it up in my studio. Edit: OK. I went ahead and hung it up in my studio. It's in the "reputation/fame" area of my studio (according to feng shui). I love that! (I read 4 feng shui books from the library over this break, and the ba gua is still fresh in mind.)

In my studio I have a changing display of photos of myself with singers and instrumentalists I've accompanied. I toyed with the idea of making a large montage-type thing of lots of photos but I've never got around to it. There's a photo of me at 17 with my teacher - but I think I'm largely unrecognisable I have a photo of my great-aunt at about 14 with her violin and continually get people asking if it's me (the photo is c.1907 so I'm not sure how old these people think I am!!). There's also a photo of my violin teacher from 30 years ago, and I'm trying to find a photo of my father at the piano to display. But a pikkie of yourself with your harp - absolutely!

Thanks for the comments. I would scan and post it, but it was professionally framed and matted, and it would be very difficult to get the frame back together if I took it apart to get the photo out. I tried scanning through the glass in the frame, but it came out blurry. I'm a little self conscious about having the photo up. I'll get used to it especially after this week, probably seeing that no one takes any interest. What's strange is that the photo seems like someone I used to be...not who I am now. But that's how old photos feel I guess.
