I would like to propose a function that allows you to post a thread as anonymous when you don't want to be identified by the other members of pianoworld forums.
For instance, if I wanted to ask a sensitive question to the piano teachers forum about a experience with my piano instructor but, for personal reasons, do not wish to give out my user name, then I could just check a box that would label the me (the OP of the thread) as anonymous.

Can't you just create a new account for that post? That would be safer anyway (as compared to a checkbox and using your non-anonymous account)?
