I must confess, I did get rid of loads of out date crisp last year, and some of the trick or treaters were taller than me lol!

I was looking on YT for "Trick or treaters get tricked" vids, but none satisfactory to post, I will have to think about making my own for next year!

here's something Manic Hispanic and She turned into La Llorona... it is a remake of I Turned into a Martian by the Misfits.

La LLorona, according to wikipedia:
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"Weeping Woman" redirects here. For the painting by Pablo Picasso, see The Weeping Woman.

Adriana Lamar as "La Malinche" in the 1933 Mexican film La Llorona

La Llorona ("The Weeping Woman") is a widespread legend in Mexico, Puerto Rico and Central America. Although several variations exist, the basic story tells of a beautiful woman by the name of Maria killing her children by drowning them, in order to be with the man that she loved. When the man rejects her, she kills herself. Challenged at the gates of heaven as to the whereabouts of her children, she is not permitted to enter the afterlife until she has found them. Maria is forced to wander the Earth for all eternity, searching in vain for her drowned offspring, with her constant weeping giving her the name "La Llorona".

In some versions of the tale, La Llorona kidnaps wandering children, or children who disobey their parents. People who claim to see her say she comes out at nights or in the late evenings from rivers or oceans in Mexico. Some believe that those who hear the wails of La Llorona are marked for death, similar to the Gaelic banshee legend. She is said to cry "Ay, mis hijos! Ay, mis hijos!" which translates to "Oh, my children!"

In another version, she is out when her children are kidnapped, murdered, and thrown in the Santa Fe River. In grief she kills herself. When she reaches the pearly white gates El Señor, God, asks her where her children are? Since she doesn't have them she can't enter the afterlife, so she is forced to wander the earth for eternity. She is said to claim any children wandering near the river at night. She puts her long, bony fingers on the child's shoulder and says,"Aquí están mis hijos," or in English ,"Here are my children."

Rossy, I thought that you would like Spinnerette for at least one of the reasons BillyO does.

Here's another BillyO favorite, from the Verbier Festival:

Right thats halloween done and dusted for this year.
And now to some music, Bob Dylan, desire albumn, and the wonderfully lyrical "Isis"

Technically PPP, just because you would not claim to be psychic, does not garauntee that you are not.

Good morning! I'm happy to report that am feeling much better, and definitely on the road to full recovery! Aimee I'm anxious to hear your Tom Waits post on my desktop. Rossy, loved the Bob Dylan post. I believe we have that album. Isn't Scarlet Rivera the fiddler?

I woke up this morning thinking about one of my favorite folk artists, Odetta. I've posted some of her pieces here in the past. However, I couldn't figure out what I wanted to hear, nor do I have much much time to research

I have a long time friend to thank for helping me out. I found just what I needed on my friend's postings outside of Piano World. I'm sure he wont mind me borrowing, however. He is an amazingly gifted poet and educator himself.

So thanks Louis for unknowingly helping me out here!

Here is Odetta singing, "Aint no grave can hold my body down"

As everyone on this thread knows I'll want to show my appreciation to Louis in the form of music, of course!!

Louis, I know you'll love this one. Here is the Soweto Gospel Choir singing, "Forever Young" which I understand was written by Bob Dylan. Enjoy!

Have a great day everyone!!

Excellent again Griffin, YES! you are absolutely correct, it was indeed Scarlet Rivera who played violin on the Desire albumn, and I firmly believe that albumn would not be what it is without her most melencholy style.... I thought I had been outed there for a moment, as I admit to trying to emulate her style, but on the cello in my waltz!!! ( trying!)

here is what I believe to be the finest example of her playing..... in this particular song off the albumn.... "sara"
