Hello all,
I consider installing this on my 5'3" and 5'10" grand pianos since I do not want to have any accidents of the falling lid. I close the lid after each playing session. I went to the local dealer and was advised that I need one for the 5'3" and two for the 5'10". The cost total for three is 1500.00 installed. I would like to know if anyone can give me some feedback on this system. I wonder if the contraption will spoil the look when the lid is fully opened and whether 500.00 for each is a reasonable cost. Thanks DP

If you are talking about the Safety-Ease lid assist, I have found that even on the very heavy lid of a Brodmann 228 (7'6") grand, I was able to get by fine with just one device set to the maximum setting.
The price is right, but I think you can get by with just one for your 5'10" grand, which will lower your cost by 1/3.

I have just one on my 6'1". It works just fine as long as you keep your hand on the lid as you lower it (don't just let go and drop it like you would with the slow-close fall board). My lid stays closed most of the time so I don't see it. And when it is raised, the room isn't very bright anyway, so I still don't notice it.

Hi all,
Does it seem like the Easy-Lift or Safety Ease are of the same design? I cannot find detailed pictures of each to compare. DP
