Hello,
my piano technician (very respected amount people in his domain) told me he is going to sell his rebuilt August Förster model IV, this small grand should be 160cm long (5' and 2.99") and was made sometime between two world wars. The price should be below $4900. I'm curious if to give it a try and buy it or rather prefer yamaha n1. For now I'm playing on wife's ~1970 August Förster upright (small) made in Czechoslovakia. I'm playing for two months now, so I'm curious which of the two instruments might be better for my practising and growing. I'm also living in flat so my neighbours need to be somehow taken into decision, however up till now 1h practise per day has not raised any protests so far... Also interesting option might be to get AF grand plus Kawai CA13/63 for night playing in sum just for the price of Yamaha N1...
Thanks for any comments on this!
Karel

Sorry, a bit impulsive there. It sure would be great, but you'd have to go and play it to see if you like it or not (that seems pretty obvious), and you'd have to go and play the N1 and/or CA16/63 as well. But if all is well and you like the AF, its nice to have the digital and a nice grand piano. smile

Rotom, indeed, I'll need to play all those pianos to see how I like them. I have just doubt if true beginner like myself is able to buy himself a piano which he would like to use for his practising/growing in playing... That's why I'm asking expert pianists here for their own opinion about this. :-) Thanks!
