I am looking to buy a used Young Chang grand piano G-185 with Serial G101124.

May I know what's the age of this piano and how's the performance of it?

Pierce Piano Atlas lists G101124 made in 1995. Best bet is to hire a piano technician to evaluate the piano for you. The few Young Chang grands I service from that era, and before that era, have not aged well.

Were the action brackets still an issue in '95?

While I am not a RPT, just a layperson looking to purchase a used piano, I found the people at Young Chang at the number listed in the previous post to be less than helpful when trying to determine a used instruments age. I called 3 or 4 times trying to get the age of a piano I was considering. Each time I explained why I had called and what I was attempting to determine by calling and each time I was very professional and courteous.

On each occasion I was met with skepticism and a steadfast determination NOT to answer my question. I was told that I should buy a new instrument and not inquire as to the manufacture date of an old one. The reason I kept calling was in the hopes that I would finally connect with someone there that would be helpful instead of difficult. Sadly, that never happened.

I expect (and hope) that the RPT's who call with technical issues / questions are treated better. If this is the case, you may want to have an RPT you are working with contact them for this information.
