Elijah, thanks for writing all of these great interviews and posting them here. Your efforts are very much appreciated!

Pollack is an interesting figure and one that I've "followed" (in terms of recordings and interviews) for much of my life. He always has thoughtful, if occasionally angry-sounding observations and I think many students could benefit from listening to him. I have to admit, though, I wouldn't want to be in his studio...largely because I wouldn't possibly have enough talent to keep his interest and patience, but also because I don't think I would respond to his personality well directly.

It is responses like Pollack's that make me wish Glenn Gould was still alive.

Thank you for reading, Goldberg!

Khatia Buniatishvili, who performed in San Francisco last night, is up next.

Very interesting, indeed.
