My last student today was a 6 year old girl who is too shy to take a bow and say her line "Thank you for teaching" at the end of the lesson.

Today as the lesson ended, the mother told me "She (her daughter) teaches me". She said the child pulls a chair alongside the piano as I do. The child sits in the teacher chair and has mom sit on the bench. Mother told me "She mimics your voice" as she's teaching. laugh

They say imitation is the highest form of flattery. I'd love to hear how she mimics my voice. This is especially funny for me since this girl barely speaks during lessons. But also it's great because it's helping the child remember what she's been taught.

In my case, that might be scary!

Or ridiculous!

Aw, that's so cute! You never know how you influence these young children. We see them, then they're gone..........they they're back..... so wonderful, Ann, to have this feedback!!

So cute! Isn't it great to hear this, when the child is so quiet during lessons?

That sort of feedback really does make your day, doesn't it?
Congrats Ann, your student hears what you are saying...and values the message enough to pass it on!

Nice!

You wanna know what you sound like? Have her sit in your seat at a lesson and you sit on the bench!!!

If you press the "quote" button (as you did when you quoted John above) you'll see John's posts complete with the url for the image you want. You can also work out the website from that (www.runemasterstudios.com) and find others.
