At the risk of being branded a shill: I'm giving a 3-hour guest workshop this Sunday called "Getting Inside Classical Music," sponsored by the Ontario Registered Music Teachers' Assn. It's an interactive philosophical class, based on experiential and adult learning principles, and will explore what classical music means to us, as listeners or players. Most of those in attendance will be either piano students or piano teachers, but it's open to anyone.
I'm too thick to know how to include a computer link, but if you're interested try Googling "ORMTA - Brampton, Bolton, Caledon Branch" along with my name, or along with "Getting Inside Classical Music Workshop." If any piano teacher from PW attends, dinner's on me.

Peter, it sounds interesting. Wish we lived a bit closer. If you're ever out in Vancouver, BC, presenting, please post it. Thanks.
John

Will do, John. The workshop came and went today, and I daresay a couple dozen attendees got something emotional out of it. I'll certainly be doing more of them, in both Canada and the US, since it's become an arm of my teaching.
Your posts, by the way, are those which most stimulated me to join PW. I've been admiring their wisdom for several years!

Peter, I learned a new word from this thread. Had to look up "shill". Good word!
John, you gave me a warm welcome when I first joined PW, and I've carefully read your posts over the years. Glad you're a member.
