My third post will be The Parker String Quartet. I posted a performance of the Parker Quartet nearly a month ago. They were in Minnesota last year through a residency under the auspices of the SPCO. (Yes, the SPCO has broadened my awareness of other chamber groups! grin )

Here they perform the third movement of Béla Bartók's "String Quartet No.1 in A minor" live in studio at Minnesota Public Radio.

My next post is The Parker String Quartet. This time they do a joint performance with Las Rubias del Norte playing a Bollywood tune at Barbes. I have no further information about the performance, etc. I just had fun listening! Also, Las Rubias was a new discovery for me because of the Parket Quartet! Enjoy!

Here's one more with The Parker String Quartet & Las Rubias del Norte. I have no details on song titles, etc. I just loved this. If anyone else has additional details, please share them.

This will be my final post for today. I'll be enjoying my vacation at home today. I will be checking in later, however. Have a great day everyone!

Elssa, I hope you’re doing well. Let us know about your situation.

Carp, congrats on your recital. It sounds like a success!.

Very good posts Grffin. I enjoyed all of them. I especially liked The Parker String Quartet playing Bartok; indeed they are an impressive ensemble. I was curious on Las Rubias del Norte, they have beautiful voices. I’ve searched on Google and I see that they have their own web site. Thanks for sharing your discovery.

I am posting this, because its just so good....
Note to the ladies,
The lady concert pianist here, clearly shows how to wear shoes with heels on to use the pedals on the piano, by swiveling on the point of the heels, using them as fulcrums..

anyways, hope everyone is enjoying there Sunday?

We left for Katrina, Elssa. We actually live in the parish on the western side of New Orleans and only lost 2 shingles and half of our fence. I hope you're safe. I also hope if you lost power, it's not out for long. I hate that part! We have a cat too - she's pretty good in the car, after she realizes she's not going to the vet.

Can't wait to sit back and listen to all the great posts!

Thanks Rossy!
That made me think of Yuja Wang. I love her. She wears smallish dresses and high heels. I would be worried the whole time someone would be looking up my dress.

While searching for a good example, I found this Chinese news report chastising her for her tiny orange dress.

Well, it was LA...

Adeltrout, that "someone" would indeed be me, I am guilty. I did try and do that with Yuja lang, but the camera angles where all Wrong.

Wayne when you said you "are working on this one at the moment" is that the dress or the song?

just curious.

Photos are just being done Recaredo, Mrs R is uploading them now, we only took a couple because we were busy actually doing the job.

It is an involved job, but as long as you take your time, make some notes which way round things go, and keep all the screws in groups , so you dont mix them up, it isnt too difficult.

should be able to post them in about ten mins.

Here we go Recaredo, just two, but they show the complete dissasembly needed to get to the heatsink, which on this laptop was completely blocked up wit fluff and debris....

The symptoms of which are your laptop getting hot on top especially next to the touchpad to the left of the touchpad.

A blocked heatsink will render the heatsink very inneficient at dispersing the heat from the CPU, this will eventually lead to unexpected shutdowns, excessively high cpu usage readings, terrible performance, and if left, will trash the laptop.

Hoovering from the outside is especially helpfull, if you have a good hoover with a tube type end, use it where you laptop "blows out from"
dont have laptop switched on though while you are doing it.

but on this occasion, knowing that the cpu had got over hot, I needed to check the thermal grease between the cpu and the heatsink, and its a good job i did...

[Linked Image]

good view of heatsink arrangement... the silver grill on the end of the copper is like a radiator, and the panels are so close together debris that your fan sucks in will soon block it....bad.

Thanks for sharing these photos, Rossy. I really like seeing internal components of computers. I hope the new laptops solve those problems. I’ll need to buy one someday.

Recaredo, some new laptops, not all have a hatch over the grill so you can get in to clean the necessary items easily... you will need to check. Not this one unfortunately though!!

In fact , everything had to be taken apart to get at it!

but its working now so all is good. And it is not even getting warm on top anymore, so am happy.

I might sell it now as it is surplus to requirements, what with the posh packard bell mrs R unexpectedly bought me!!

later.

Hi Aimee; Well, that's about the only time Gwen is put in a car - going to the vet - so she knows her fate. smile My yard was a lake today (sort of like a moat) but it didn't get into the house, so I'm very relieved! Despite my nice new fish name, I'm a terrible swimmer - afraid of the water in general. Feel bad for all the other people who were flooded. frown

Rostosky, loved your posting - one of my very favorite classical songs. I keep trying to learn the solo piano version (very difficult).
Enjoyed everyone's clips!

Here're some Byrds: smile
