It is with great honor and excitement as we announce that Mr. Udo Schmidt-Steingraeber, of Steingraeber & Söhne Pianos (Bayreuth, Germany), will be visiting Grand Piano Haus in Skokie, Illinois. Mr. Steingraeber will lecture on the history and technical achievements of Steingraeber pianos.

This symposium will begin promptly at 3pm on Friday, February 3, 2012 and 3pm on Saturday, February 4, 2012, in the Grand Piano Haus Studio.

Wow, I wish we lived closer.

Udo is a gentleman and extremely knowledgeable about piano construction, not to mention the maker of some truly fine pianos.

We had the pleasure of taking a group of forums members on a private tour of his Bayreuth facilities this past June, the tour was conducted by Udo himself.
Kathy has named him the "Willie Wonka of the Piano World" (based on the Gene Wilder version) for his enthusiasm and mannerisms.

If you can take this in, by all means do so.
