Frank -- A "party"? I was under the impression that gatherings of piano players/lovers were referred to as . . . well. . . "gatherings".

I mean, what *else* would they do with their spare time, they don't play pianos and they don't Belly Dance. Must be a dull existence...

There must be a strong correlation between country's ranking on the Piano World List and it's GDP and standard of living. And now for the countries that are truly missing: Somalia Burkina Faso Mauritania Congo (Brazzaville) Liberia North Korea Any others?

Oh wow! I think I have my own dot!
Surprised Japan isn't higher on the list considering how wired and into pianos the Japanese are.

Could it be possible having a world map showing the user's density, like the one you posted with the USA members? Sorted by continents, maybe? As I have no idea about the amount of work a map like this would need, if it's something difficult to get just ignore my suggestion. Merry Christmas!

Frank: I used a wider time frame, which brought us up to 213 countries (vs 199 for the first overview)...[/b] So still no-one from the Azores, Central African Republic, Christmas Island, Cocos Islands, Comoros, Guinea-Bissau, Madeira, Marshall Islands, Mayotte, Nauru, North Korea, Pitcairn Island, St Pierre and Miquelon, São Tomé and Principe, Tokelau, Tuvalu, Wallis and Futuna, or Western Sahara? And here was I thinking that this was an international forum -Michael B.

Thanks for the list Pianoworld - very interesting!
I thought it would also be interesting to list the countries per capita, so here are 20 countries for which I have done the calculation(per 1000 population):
Singapore 6.2 USA 5.0 Australia 3.4 UK 3.1 New Zealand 3.0 Ireland 2.7 Finland 1.8 Netherlands 1.7 Norway 1.7 Sweden 1.6 Belgium 1.3 Switzerland 1.2 Denmark 1.2 Hongkong 1.1 Malaysia 0.64 Germany 0.41 Spain 0.38 France 0.30 Italy 0.28 Philippines 0.18
