Anyone having "back" button issues?

I'm able to navigate PW normally, except that when I hit the "back" button to return to the previous screen, nothing happens (even if I hit it repeatedly).
I thought it was probably an issue with my browser, but other sites work fine... it's just on PW.
Anyone else?
Any suggestions?

Yes I've had the same problem, but also on some other sites. I blamed it on windows updates that occur automatically without asking you first if you want them.

Yes,I was about to post about this issue. For me, it only happens in IE9. Other browsers seem to be ok. If I hit the back button about 8 times in quick succession, it works. All other sites work fine for me too.

Yes, I have noticed this recently... but only on Piano World. There doesn't seem to be a problem with other web sites.
I have to refresh the page to go back to the main forum.
Maybe it will correct itself soon. I've though about downloading Firefox...

Does not appear to be a Windows Issue - EVERY single page has a number of "Share This" pages automatically generated.
I suspect that it is some issue concerning Facebook or Twitter link code. Whatever it is, it is aggravating. I just checked, it does not affect Firefox 10, but it is affecting IE9.

Yes, I'm having the problem. IE 8. 10 clicks works to take me back. If it is Facebook/Twitter link code... can I just say I hate that stuff with a purple passion.

Well, I'm not a member of Face book or Twitter... even though I wrote a blues tune entitled "Face book blues". But you are right, this mingling of FB and Twitter into every internet site is ridiculous Rick

Maybe Frank can put his crack team of PW tech experts on this?
Not a big deal in itself, just a minor annoyance, but if it is an issue involving facebook/twitter code, or something similar, maybe investigation of this could lead to resolution of other potential problems before they occur.
Any mods reading this? Rickster et al?

I'll PM Frank and Ken and mention this thread so they can look into it. I only have moderator rights on the piano forum, and I know little about computers! Rick *edit* Okay, I notified Frank and Ken... maybe a resolution is on its way...

It is an issue from ShareThis the sytem that provides the Twitter/Facebook/ShareThis buttons. They are discussing it now on their developers forum and are looking for a fix. We provide the buttons as a courtesy for people who visit our site to share with their friends, which also attracts new members. However if they don't get it fixed soon, we will remove it. Here is what is being discussed... Back button in IE not working (9 posts)Started 1 day ago by Remco Tijssen Latest reply from PianoWorld Add this topic to your favorites (?) No tags yet. Remco Tijssen Member After including the http://w.sharethis.com/button/buttons.js in a webpage the history contains multiple items with references to sharethis. This seems a new problem? Try http://www.stadgenoot.nl/woningcorporatie/over-stadgenoot/onze-organisatie/onze-missie in IE, then the back button stop functioning. Posted 1 day ago # hihofadmin Member not working for us either, had to take off the "share this" feature off our website... Posted 1 day ago # 328472964f2855e97c54a Member Same here. Not sure if it's just always been there or not, but we just noticed it. Hmmm.... Posted 1 day ago # ueadmt Member same problem here. anyone out there got a solution? Posted 12 hours ago # mattyl Member reporting same issue just IE8 (not IE9) example http://www.prosportuk.com/exercise_equip...r_yoga_mat.html Any ideas? Posted 11 hours ago # dbouws Member This issue is also reproducable on the sharethis blog! See http://blog.sharethis.com go to a few pages and try using the back button in IE. This should be addressed by Sharethis since its causing a lot of problems for many websites! Posted 9 hours ago # smcintyre@marketing-partners.com Member Same problem here. If you look at the list opened with the little arrow to the right of the forward/back buttons (IE8) it shows you a bunch of Share This items (in my case 7) before it shows the last page you were actually on. I have to hit the back button 7 times before I get any movement. I don't know why I get 7, even on single post pages. Posted 1 hour ago # jerrygarciuh Member Also having this issue. So glad to see ShareThis reps responding here.... Posted 1 hour ago # PianoWorld Member Started getting complaints on our piano forums ( www.pianoworld.com/forum). Appears to be mostly IE8, although I'm now seeing the same issue in IE9 as well. If you right click the back button/arrow you get a list of share this / share this / share this, depending on how many times you tried clicking back. In other words, every time you try to use the back button it gets intercepted by share this. They need a fix fast, or we will remove.

Just for general info, there is at least one alternative to 'ShareThis'. I have been using 'Add This' on my own website, for some time, without any issues, so far.
