I'm trying to figure out what year my piano was born. Ivers and Pond ser #34,200. It was made for the FW Estabrook music company of Elmira, New York. A side plate boasts a series of newangled patents including "Soft Stop '88" and "Pedal Action '92" My piano tech and I found some notes indicating signifigant restoration work was done to it in the 1980's. There's a brass toggle on the side for the damper and the middle pedal is a bass sustain. The wood is all in mint condition. Does anyone know what year this piece is from? Would anyone care to estimate its worth? (Strictly from an "Antiques Roadshow" bragging rights perspective. I have no intention of selling it. Thanks

Welcome to Piano World!
Pierce Piano Atlas lists Ivers & Pond #34200 as being made in 1903. At that time Ivers & Pond would add the name of the piano dealer somewhere on the piano. It made it look like those pianos were only made for that specific dealer. In reality, the pianos were the same sent to every other dealer.
There is little value to the older uprights, even if they were wonderful when new. There are exceptions, of course. If you can figure out how, please post some pictures here of both the outside and inside of the piano.
