I am also the thinking of dbuying a new Yamaha Indonesian-made GB1k grand piano. is worth CA $12,990 before tax? I am thinking either buy this one then use the 10 year trade in program to trade in a C2 when I have saved the money; or now I should buy a cheaper 2nd hand baby grand or upright now.
So, Is it worth buying a Yamaha 20 or 30 yr old baby grand / upright and how long can I still use it? Is it hard to sell it out. After 10 more years?
I will take the grade 10 piano exam and are these old piano enough?
There is a 2 year old kawai GM 12 priced $9500. Is it a good price? Is it better than the GB1k?
Thank you so much!

The prices on pianos are negotiable. Hardly anyone ever pays the RRP (MSRP, depending on where you are). Are you planning to sell the piano after a few years? Taking a grade ten piano exam, these pianos will be likely not satsify you. The two year old Kawai baby grand, the price is quite high, although if it is able to come down on the price, it will probably be reasonable. A larger, though older, Yamaha or Kawai would give a better piano at a better price if you shop wisely
