If a Yamaha piano has a manufacture date stamp of November 2011 for example.......How long does it take to arrive from the Japan factory to dealer inventory/warehouse? Does that date of manufacture make it a spanking new one to hit the dealer floor? Is there a certain period of time Yamaha waits until they ship them from Japan? Any other process involved regarding the instrument? Customs clearing,etc....? Just curious!

As soon as the piano from the factory hits the dealer floor, it's considered a "brand spanking new one". it usually takes a couple of months from production finish to get across the ocean to your dealer.

That's what I figured with Customs. I was just wondering how long they sit in a Yamaha warehouse in the US before they hit dealer floors.

Not long unless they are a "stock" piano like a C7 or CF series in which case they are built to order for Yamaha US to hold the piano if a dealer sells one or they rent it out for concerts etc.

Are the CF's stocked in the US now? Last summer I tried to find a CF4 and was told I would have to fly 3000 miles to NY to see/play the only one in the US.
