Your comment is terrible. She's playing the piano; you're trying to tear somebody down. Which do you think is more admirable?

+1. And she is indeed very cute, but give me Hiromi Uehara any day. Or, if you have a time machine, give me Martha Argerich circa 1962. B)

She looks like she's having more fun than a lot of us at PianoWorld, that's for sure.
She's probably cuter than most of us too.

Your comment is terrible. She's playing the piano; you're trying to tear somebody down. Which do you think is more admirable? What's your take on her playing Kreisler? I think the execution is decent - good rhythmic sense, parts are balanced for the most part (LH is occasionally too strong, but tough to tell because of the way it was recorded - the microphone doesn't sound like it's capturing all the low end.) My main criticism would be of the arranging. I don't know if they're her arrangements or not, but they are pretty straightforward - very basic LH patterns and RH mostly in octaves or simple chords. The playing would stand up well in a band, but without the other instruments or lyrics, the arrangements don't really stand alone well as solo pieces. (To her credit, creating convincing solo arrangements of popular tunes is extremely difficult.)

My only comment is that Pianist Corner tends to focus on classical and Pianist Corner - Nonclassical is probably the more appropriate place to post these.

Hi baboon and welcome to Pianoworld! I think Steve's comment above is an appropriate one. In this Pianist Corner, we are heavily focused on intermediate to advanced classical music. It's easy to choose the wrong forum since there are so many. (I did it the first time I posted!) I think your posting will receive a warm reception in the Pianist Corner - Non Classical or the Adult Beginners Forum.

I don't understand a single thing whatsoever about this thread. I don't see how she could be considered terrible. I don't see why this was posted in this section, although it doesn't particularly bother me that it was. Actually I don't see why this was posted on the site at all. And I don't understand that nobody wondered out loud why this was posted on the site at all, and in fact that's the only thing about this that I find interesting. If she is Baboon, that's a different story, but it doesn't seem that's so.

Have you not read the thread, Marc? Two people have posted mild exception to the thread being started here. It's ironic that you're asking me if I read the thread. Did you read my post? Take another look. You mistook what I said. Nobody wondered out loud about the thing that I said nobody had wondered out loud about.

This is making me think you guys need to videotape your entire meeting in NYC and post it on this forum! It might be the most interesting thread ever ! However, everyone should wear name tags.....

I could have directed my comments to the piece and not the player. For me, the piece just became a mess of noise after a minute. I did not hear or feel anything different once the initial idea was presented.

....I did not hear or feel anything different once the initial idea was presented. How is that different from most piano performance?
