CyberHammer Impact Lever for Grand?
This baby is a whopping $895 US!!!
Any experience with it?
Will it make adjustments as fine as, say, 1/3, 1/5 of a cent? (Assuming the pins are in normal condition.... not too tight....????)
Or are even the finest adjustments less precise than this?
Also: are there any grand impact hammers that work as well for LESS?

It's not really the tuning lever that makes a good tuner. Just as long as the thing is of good quality, any standard lever would be suitable. As to the precision of tuning whilst using one, it is 98% "feel" rather than a matter of expensive levers.

Well, I have a GREAT tuning hammer right now. Thing is, I'm wondering two things 1) does a GOOD impact hammer do fine adjustments? 2) does a GOOD impact hammer for GRANDS ALSO do fine adjustments?

I think the answers to your questions would be subjective. You really need to try tools like this out, to see if they work for you. A good opportunity to try them out and to talk to the people who know about them is at a piano technicians convention. Mark your calendar - Salt Lake City in two weeks, and Seattle in July. There are quite a few more as well, info here: PTG seminars 2012/2013

Jg The point I was trying to stress is that fine adjustments (both grand and upright)depend entirely on the skill of the person tuning the instrument. The tuning lever, one might liken to a paint brush,in as much that whilst they may differ in quality, the finished product of a masterpiece can only ever be produced by the skill of the artist. Agreed there are some bad cheap examples of levers that cause damage to wrestpins or don't fit properly, but on the whole a reasonably priced good quality lever will be just as good in the hands of a skilled tuner as would many of these modern wonders that cost a small fortune.

I don't have any experience with the grand model, but I LOVE my vertical Cyberhammer.
