HUH?!? Eglantine, I thought you was calling me names at first. I was shocked as I have just awakened and wondered how you could have known I was online yet. Of course I had to go to my online dictionary to find out what else that could possibly mean in the Brittish sense. A ball of seasoned chopped beef baked or fried, it said. Whew! I feel so much better now! laugh

Then she will need to explain what makes gay folks in Wales so special over us gay folks in the good ole USA! Oh Rossy, we could start an international incident over this! Of course, I'm a man of peace and would do all I could to avoid such unpleasantness wink.

DUDES AND DUDETTES< IF YOU SEE ANYTHING TODAY YOU MUST< REPEAT MUST SEE THIS::::

Japanese artist Isao Hashimoto has created a beautiful, undeniably scary time-lapse map of the 2053 nuclear explosions which have taken place between 1945 and 1998, beginning with the Manhattan Project's "Trinity" test near Los Alamos and concluding with Pakistan's nuclear tests in May of 1998. This leaves out North Korea's two alleged nuclear tests in this past decade (the legitimacy of both of which is not 100% clear).

Each nation gets a blip and a flashing dot on the map whenever they detonate a nuclear weapon, with a running tally kept on the top and bottom bars of the screen. Hashimoto, who began the project in 2003, says that he created it with the goal of showing"the fear and folly of nuclear weapons." It starts really slow — if you want to see real action, skip ahead to 1962 or so — but the buildup becomes overwhelming.

Ahh, yes I did mean the edible variety, griffin! Not so different from haggis, really.

On musical matters, I've been looking for a keyboard sheet of Dido's Lament, and until today the only one I had found was for figured bass, and there is *no way in the world* I'm going to try grappling with figured bass (although I will have to next term for my class).

But then today I located a version with the left hand written out. Yay! Playing both LH and RH as spread chords on the harpsichord, I've now realised that these very chords have been purloined by various others to form the basis of some pop/rock tunes.

Anyway, here is the fantastic Jeff Buckley, with his version recorded at the South Bank in London. Unfortunately, there is no official/hi-qual recording of this AFAIK. If there is, do let me know.

Have I posted this before? Ah well, you can't have too much of Purcell and Jeff Buckley.

Eglantine, I am very stressed that you have never enjoyed the delights of curry and chips.
Where have you been hiding? have you never passeed a decent chippy and been unable to resist the smell of chips? Theres nothing quite like a carton of chips with a portion of curry sauce poured over them from a good chippy. especially on a cold winters day like today!!!

Let me think, AH YES!!!

Catch the tube to Highgate, get off at Highgate station and walk down the Archway road a little, with your back to the station, keep on the left hand side of the road...
After five mins MAX, you will find on your left a little place that does takaway or sit in food.
they have a variety of amazing things....
many curries.

I love that song BeccaBb, especially the guitar..
No what it is, is that in Wales we only have one gay in the small village of llandewi breiffi!! and he is quite terratorial.!!!

He has never actually had sex though, his name is Dafydd and he is a character on the show little Britain.

Its all tongue in cheek, and is a way for the show to get away with saying as many different words for the male member as is possible...

ANNOUNCEMENT!!!!!

ANNOUNCEMENT!!!!!!

ANNOUNCEMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THIS SUNDAY WILL BE BECCABb;s desert Island discs, and promises again, to be very interesting and diverse, and full of good music...

I thought It an Idea to go Male, Female, Male, Female, if possible...

Rossy I owned that guitar! I gave it to my brother though. Very very hard to tune! It also weighs a ton. LOL It's really a shame I had no interest in learning guitar.. *sigh* just can't seem to love them as much though.

LOL I love european humor. It is just one of a kind smile

Um it was made in the 1930's. I'd have to call my brother and ask him what make it was again.... I wonder if I have any pics left of it... I think it was some obsolete company. Pfft my memory sucks... It looks exactly like that though. No difference at all.

As far as winter meals, I have 2. This beef in red wine gravy stuff I make with blue cheese risotto, and this ground pork "pie"(I cheat and pit it in a souffle dish and put puff pastry over the top and add more broth to the inside) with sage and carrots and potatoes and celery.

Excited to hear your DID, Becca!

Ah we posted at the same time!! Elton john has no shame though, remember he wrote candle in the wind about marylin monroe. Then when the peoples princess ( the rich peoples) got bumped off by Our Queen, he tried to blag that the song was for Diana. A sort of secondhand song for a secondhand princess.

AimeeO , I apologise entirely for suggesting that you should use your cat to get BP oil money, and then suggesting it should be put on the top of a pedestal on its own.
This was totally wrong of me, and i didnt really mean it, please convey my deepest apologies to your cat as well.

No, no bigfoot. Hmm that is interesting. We used to hear reports of "sightings" about it all the time. I guess the press is too busy with the doomsday clock/countdown every year to be bothered anymore! LOL
