After I purchased my Roland stage piano last December I knew I had to get a dust cover for it sooner or later. With the help of a tailor and an embroiderer I had a cover made in 100% cotton and I figured I could share the result here. The cover by tandemkayaker, on Flickr Close-up by tandemkayaker, on Flickr

Looks great. Is there a drawstring or something under it to tighten it on?

I just had one (very similar) made up (by my mum ) for my DP as well. Though i dont have a logo on mine - may be a good way to distinguish front from back. I had an elastic put under it to tighten it up - an alternative to a drawstring. only 73-keys, so not a terribly comfortable sleep. 73 is really only good for nanna-naps. Kawai could make covers for their DP's, along with custom stands.

I like those Keywear lycra covers. Obviously, they are nothing as fancy as the custom-made one, but they work to keep the dust out. And they're pretty affordable.

You face the corner when you play? You have to turn that baby around and have your back to the wall.

I want one for my V-Piano.....at present I'm only using a white bedsheet , and I'm no good at DIY or embroidery. But I'll need one that allows for a couple of (vertical) feet of extra room on either side, where I have my music scores stacked on top of the slab...

But, of course, that would mean dropping off your VP at my place for a while.

But will the tiger sharks get their teeth on my black beauty (like one of them nearly chomped off my leg when I was surfing at Byron Bay) before I can get it to you down under?

That tiger shark realised what he was dealing with - a piano world forum member !! There's also the great white's, and dont forget the bull sharks here in the Harbour. But given we're on Piano World and talking about sewing and embroidery, wouldn't have thought you'd be worried about sharks. Now, if this was Guitar World Forums I would definately be advising caution.

Wow... I am impressed! I should also go for one like that! Thanks Verbo! Yes, just find local tailor and embroiderer and tell them what you want. PM me if you want me to send you my template/instructions. For me the total cost came to $28 plus the cost of the fabric.

Hello everybody! Following Amaruk's accurate instructions, I managed to get another cover made here in Greece. I still miss the embroidening part, but I am thinking of writing the model myself with a white marker (based on a pattern from the RD-700NX manual). Total cost so far: 27EUR (fabric + tailor) Many thanks to Amaruk for his kind help!
