Hey Recardo, I am not familiar with "Manic Miner," but the music to it sounds quite familiar. Now where have I heard that before? . . . .hmmmmm. Oh yes!
True Story: I was having a cavity filled at the dentist, and he let me listen to the radio (through headphones) while he and the assistant operated upon me. Anyway, while they were going about their job of poking, prodding, sucking, spraying, drilling, etc, this tune came on the radio! It was probably one of the most disturbing feelings of my life.
Aimee, I sure hope we get to see some photos of your new piano. How exciting!
Morning everyone. Before I get ready for work I thought I'd share some Taj Mahal. Here is "Corinna" for all of you blues fans out there!
I am quite familiar with this song. Thanks for reminding me of it.
My dad is a bluesman. Taj is one of his favorites. He re-listened to this one & Taj's first, all the time. This was when I was 15.
About the same time, I was in love with a redhead named Corrina:

This memory is courtesy of the Siouxsie song. I met a girl that introduced me to Siouxsie that summer. This girl was an eccentric redhead, and I spent a summer writing poems for her. It was lame. But at least I picked up a taste for macabre music. To me, this redhead still embodies a certain mythos of female narcotic seduction. It's hard to describe. Thinking about it makes me think I know what hard drugs would have been like, had I ever indulged.
I still listen to Taj often. This is my favorite:
Don't it make you want to get up and shake something?

Help help HElp HELP.....
A few nights ago, I heard a piece of classical music on the telly in the background... and the melody made me think "I know that"
"Where have I heard it"
I racked my mental library, and realised that the enid have used it for a track entitled "JUDEGMENT" which was on an albumn where each track represented a Tarot card....
PolyphasicPianist ( thanks dude) reminded me by the dentist thing.......
Because you would not want to hear this at the dentist... seriously.... especially at 3.30....
The melody I am talking about comes in at 45 seconds.....
BUT WHAT IS THAT MELODY LINE TAKEN FROM???
HELP!!!

RECAREDO your A STAR!!!!!! excellent, Robert John godfrey the founder of the ENid was of course a pupil at the Royal college of music and the royal academy of music. he studied under concert pianist michael binns, and thse around him at the time were benjamin britten and sir michael tippit.
It is no surprise that he got the melody from somewhere and reworked it...... Brilliant Recaredo, Brilliant... Thanks.

many moons ago., I posted this as a beautifull piece of clasical piano by Robert John Godfrey of the Enid.
The big octaves that come in around 3.45 are simply lovely. It had a sort of rach feel to it.. It is called "the lovers" and again it is from the enids debut albumn from way back called "in the region of the summer stars"
I just found this, Robert John Godfrey playing it with the City of Birmingham symphony orchestra...
Unfortunately there isnt much..... but it shows just how good this piece is....

Morning Griffin!!! I love the way Robert John Godfrey plays, slumped, hunched over, sometimes eyes closed, mumbling the melody to himself nearly all the way through...looking at his hands for the big far away from the middle of the piano parts!!! all the things folk are allways posting about asking for advice on not doing!!
Cool !! BECCABb's IS tommorrows castaway folks.... at 5 pm London time... I thought I would throw in a few reminders today, just in case!!!
There will be a few piccies as well, which is something me and Griffin, failed to discuss with his DID!!
Ah well, its a learning process all round!!!!

Wow, some Mike Oldfield I didn't know. Thanks, griffin!
Right, that's enough office painting for today... I think it's now time to build a fire - ah, better chop some logs first, before it gets dark.
I'm really appreciating the - slightly - longer days. We currently seem to have around 1.5 hours more daylight in the afternoon than back in December. And next month the clocks go forward. Yippee!
Perhaps keeping in the mood with Oldfield, here's Boards of Canada with their lovely Davyan Cowboy. (By the way, if you don't know BoC, they're a Scottish duo and nothing to do with Canada!) Should be listened to on a half-decent hi-fi; YouTube doesn't really do this kind of music justice.

I'm a dragging my heels I think. Uggh. Anyways I'm looking forward to tomorrow. I have two music pics to add that didn't go into the interview because I view the entire albums as one peice.
Love the BoC. For those of you that don't know Canada is actually an aborginal word for village.
Rupak's Dad is very talented. Anyone here watch Ravi Shankar? We have his concert for World Peace on DvD. Just amazing. Anyways Rupak's Dad reminds me of the drummer for Ravi. Very talented people.
My pic for today: and because I have to:

Well you would have to ask Ian Hunter about that... But this was the original line up Mick Ralphs ( who went into bad company) verden allan ( keyboards) Dale griffin ( Buffin) on drums.. and Ian Hunter. Micky ronson, ( a Hull lad) died aged just 49 years .
Buffin has been seuffering from altzheimers, so I reckon they thought they better do it soon... except during the time they decided to do it and the time it happened Buffins condition worsened.
So what you have is Martin Chambers ( from the pretenders) playing drums, with Buffin coming out for the three song encore... thats why there is Two drumkits on stage.
Joe elliot(def leopard) is also onstage singing some backing vocals as is Ian hunters daughter Tracy hunter ( tracy hunter cartel band) Phoebe white and Mick ronsons daughter Lisa.
It is rumoured Hunter was offered a seven figured number to get the band back together.... he is in his seventies, but you would never have guessed it, he jumped around for over two hours! magic.

Could someone send me a little norovirus? please. I havent had it yet and am getting very jealous of all the folk who have. A little smear on a culture plate is all I want, not too much to ask for surely?
I want it so I can get infected and puke and poo at the same time in the local cafe that made me a horrid bacon sarnie last week...
I want to go in, eat another bacon sarnie, and then totally puke and poo, claiming it was the sarnie i just ate, and get compo.

I've been to one of those.. I went to a tiny concert for Eddie Rabbit um.. somewhere between 92-93. He died in 1998. Awesome, unbelievable concert. A real performer that one.
