Hi, I'm very happy with my Brodmann piano, sounds really well but of course is not a perfect piano, there are little things that can be improved but for 11000 euros is the best buy i could make. The only big problem is the sustain pedal noise. I show you a video cause it helps a lot to explain it: www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Vcd9xXTtOAI would like to know if i can do something to stop this noise. Thanks. First i did a search in the forum, but found similar problems but not exactly the same.

Sure there is. The very best thing to do is call your favorite local piano technician and have him/her solve the mystery for you. Most likely is the pitman arm. Due for tuning? Maybe get the instrument tuned at the same time? best of luck,

This is what I would do, take the whole assembly apart then clean, polish and lubricate all parts correctly. I would put better screws in the bearing block. It is not hard to fix but should be done by a technician. Jack Houweling 604 970-3371 www.Jackspiano.com

I'm not convinced the noise is coming from where you suspect it is coming from. It can just as easily be coming from very back of the pedal or, top of the pedal. With pianos, buzzes, squeaks and rattles, may sound like they are coming from one location when in fact, they are coming from somewhere else. It could also be that those Phillips screws are loose by the part you are pointing at. MANY different possibilities....
Call the technician. If it is new, it should be covered under warranty anyway. No need to wait for the next tuning. It is squeaking now. Call have him them come out and fix it but, make sure the dealer will pay for it.

I've had my Brodmann PE 187 for 4 weeks. It developed a squeek and was a bit noisy. The dealer sent a tech who lubricated it. The squeek is gone and I'm not paying as much attention to the sound of the pedal now. I think all sustain pedals make some sound and one tunes it out. But excessive squeeking or other sounds draw your attention to the pedal.

With pianos, buzzes, squeaks and rattles, may sound like they are coming from one location when in fact, they are coming from somewhere else. I can attest to that. Back a few years ago, I had a squeek that appeared to be coming from the sustain pedal on my Kawai US 75 Upright. I had a tech check it out, tighten bolts, lube a bunch of stuff, etc. and give up. Turns out, the whole bottom board was squeeking. I simply put a book under the piano to support the board and the squeek was gone.

That'll work too! Or, he can flip the piano and tighten the bottom board screws. High gloss finishes quite often do that.
