I noticed inside the bench of our wurlitzer spinet there is a sticker that says "Piano Technicians Guild" With his name on it. I know he's a Piano Tech but does anyone know anything about him? The last time he tuned our wurlitzer was in June of 1996 and it still sounds amazing although the hammers need to be reshaped and the action regulated.Here is what our wurlitzersounds like.

umm it hasnt been tuned in 16 years 96 lol not 06 I had only just turned one when that piano was last tuned.

You could go to www.ptg.org, and click on the link in the upper right hand corner, find a piano technician. Maybe he's still in the area.

Sorry but, the piano IS out of tune and off from pitch too.... A lot more so than you may think.. 16 years is a long time...

I know its a little flat I couldnt tell you by how much. Some of the sharps the dont get used verry often are out you can hear the beats. We just cant afford to pay to have it tuned, thats one of the reasons I got into all this piano buisiness. But I will never try to tune this piano that job is for John Baird until he passes on.

Save up your money, buy an iPod touch (unless you have one already) and the Verituner app from the App Store, along with the Levitan "Classic" tuning lever and some mutes. You will be much happier, and so will we

Yes, I know John Baird. I had lunch with him at the last convention. He helped me train to be an examiner many years ago. He is a very fine technician.

I would just like to meet him, maybe its time to call him for an appointment Its been 16 years since he has service the piano I wounder If he still remembers the piano. Im just afraid of what he will say about the regulation of the action since its been 16 years and all. I would like to become a piano Tech. Im just trying to decide between becoming a RN or a RPT maybe both if possible.
