In the spirit of Valentine's Day,

What is your favourite piece of music in this kind of "serenade" or "romantic" vein? (think love)

or

Which piece of music would you play to "woo" a member of the opposite sex? smile

Something like this, perhaps? laugh

Well, one must be able to actually play first and then chances are she already likes you more than just a bit, if she's willing to sit and listen to you, which more or less means you're not really wooing anyone but your ego. It can't hurt to hit the bar before the piano stage of things and order several shots for her...she'll believe you're a genius after the fourth or fifth even if you sound like crap.

Okay, then let's engage in a hypothetical situation... you're on a blind date, with a member of the opposite sex who is extremely attractive, and you want it to go well. You hit it off well with them, but they're not really "there." Through some extraordinary turn of events, you are given the opportunity to play the piano for them. You are given one chance to play anything you wish as your last chance to impress them or whatever. What would it be? (pretend you're some well-practiced super-virtuoso who can play anything)

Agree with you totally on "My One and Only Love"; also, your posting of Harold Arlen's "Over the Rainbow" reminded me of a less well-known but absolutely gorgeous song of his -- "Right as the Rain".
