I think the size limit is really 10mb and not 20. Your file was stereo with both channels the same, so I dropped it back to mono, which cut the file size in half.
Looking at all the other file sizes that have successfully uploaded, they are all less than 10mb.
Sam
Hmmm, I'm not sure about the size. My submission for the 24th recital was 15mb in size and I had no problem uploading it. Unless this new site has other limits... Maybe it's the MP3 bit rate because I just submitted sucessufully the same file with a smallest bit rate. Anyway, thanks for your support! PS: If the limit is 10mb, please correct the info in the upload page. Carlos, I think the limit got moved down in the transition to the new servers, which is why it was never an issue in the past. Sam's looking into it, and I think we're going to try to raise it back up for future recitals. But for this recital, if any of you haven't submitted yet and/or experience trouble in uploading your piece, check the size of your file. And you don't need to re-upload your info, btw. I was able to 'undelete' your original submission and it's all still there.

Unfortunately I cannot contribute to the recital this time. I just flew in to JFK on an urgent business. There is a piano in the company building but I don't think I can find any time to go near it. Next time. Oh sadness. We will miss you.

My vote is for Beethoven Pathetique Sonata 2nd Movt Sorry - I went with the Nocturne.. The Beethoven, despite being probably the best played of the 3 choices was possibly the worst recorded (Too much dynamic contrast for the technology). The worst bit about the recording is the D90's fantastic 'auto-leveling' microphone, which does a great job of ensuring any dynamics I play are destroyed in the mix! (Just listen to the relative volume of the hissy noise and tone quality as it boosts my 'piano's and fades my 'forte's - its weird and quite unsettling to have all my nuances and feeling eaten up by a dumb piece of technology!) ETA: Not really fair - as a CAMERA the D90 is awesome... but as a 'multifuncton device' it kinda sucks!

I wasn't going to submit mine as it wasn't quite up to speed, but last weekend I thought 3 months is enough working on a piece like this so got mine in. Today I started on my next piece, yey!

I wish I could figure out how to upload to YouTube. So far it has eluded me. Grrrrrrrr.

Okay, I was able to save Starr Keys's submission. I ripped the mp3 off the YouTube video and uploaded it. *Phew* Starr Keys, you owe me an extra half hour of sleep.

Okay, contrary to appearances, we *will* have a recital tonight. The online streaming player isn't working, and I had to drop Denali's submission, but everything else is running the way it's supposed to be. I'm making the zip files now so hopefully it will all be up in *gulp* a couple of hours.

Actually, there's still a few more kinks. The zip files won't upload; apparently Frank's guy didn't set all the permissions we needed. And the direct links in the automated program are still set to go to LaValse's server. So I have to go through and fix them all by hand. So, no streaming player tonight, and probably no zip files; we'll get that all sorted out as soon as we can. But I'll have the individual entries done before I go to sleep and finish up everything else tomorrow.
