I was thinking of installing one on my PC to use with my PX330

So far I've looked at Synthogy, Alicia's Keys and a couple more. Does anyone else here use them?

You opened the wrong door. You want the digital forum up the street.

WHile you're in the wrong place, let me give you a pianist's advice on piano samples: ALWAYS ask yourself, Am I using this software for PLAYING or for making/perfecting piano performances for OTHERS to LISTEN TO?

Hugely important. The software that feels good to PLAY as a pianist, seldom if ever passes the REALISM test if you actually record and listen to the result. The sample files or demos at the various sites CAN be misleading, too, Because, of course, you're LISTENING to them, not playing the sample; AND, sample often DO NOT sound like the demos anyway (at least from a listener's standpoint.)

Good luck!

Contact a moderator and see what they can do. You can't do it yourself. We can delete our own posts, but only for a short while (I'm not sure how long). I am not sure if that works for posts that start a thread, though.

I can only speak to the free VSTi's I've used, but just in case anyone on a budget reads this...

Check out Keyboard Mag: No Price Like Free for a laundry list (at the end) of keyboard VST's.

CVpiano (by Tascam I believe) is pretty good, but it has a big footprint. I've also tried a couple I found on KVR in an attempt to find something that would run on a netbook for travel - 4piano and JazzBaby were the two I found sounded the best in a small footprint, but they are still pretty bad compared to CVpiano.
