All yamaha products. But which of these keyboards produces the best piano sounds? Even the same sample sounds different on different keyboards. I have heard comments that the S6 on XF is a different S6 sound on the S90XS.

Which is your favourite keyboard for piano sounds?

Hi, the answer is that there's no single best piano sound. I've been searching and trying so many DP sounds over the years.

See my sig for the DPs I currently own. I am now planning to get the MOX 8 and prefer its piano sound for live performance in a band setting. Remember that the MOX 8 is a synth workstation and is by no means specialized in piano sound like the other models you listed.

I believe the S6 sound and the modeled piano on CP1 are more pianist friendly. I have tried all the models you mentioned in a music store.

Out of those (and I own a XF, S90XS and a CP1)...the CP1 hands down

Hi,

I would agree that there is no universally best piano sound because most pianists have a different perception of what sounds best. I have a Motif XF for many sounds (including piano), but I personally like the Roland Fantom piano for both action and sound. I will play the XF's piano, and to me, it does not satisfy my ears like the Fantom X does. It's all personal taste.
