So, here's a recording of my most recent piece:

consolation/diffraction

This is a trio for flute, bass clarinet and piano which I wrote in October-November 2011. I based it on Liszt's Consolation No. 3 which pops up in various disguises during the piece and in its complete and original form near the end. I took these fragments from Liszt and glued them together with material of my own making, you can usually tell which is which, I think, but sometimes maybe not.

consolation/diffraction has been commissioned and premiered by the ensemble contraire (the recording you hear is a live recording from the first performance).

As usual, comments of any sort are very welcome, and so is silent enjoyment, if you like.
