National Piano Travelers Association ANNUAL MEETING AND PARTY Saturday, January 19 2008 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM Hyatt Regency Orange County 11999 Harbor Boulevard Garden Grove CA President’s Message By Don Glasgow Once again the NAMM Show is less than four months away and we are making our plans for the annual NPTA meeting. The officers have decided to hold the annual meeting and reception on Saturday evening, January 19, 2008 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the Hyatt Regency Orange County. This is a change of hotel and location. We believe we will have better attendance on Saturday evening because some of the manufacturers have informed us they are busy on Wednesday evening with booth set up and meetings with their representatives. This year, there will be surprise music entertainment at the reception, including some our own members. If you would like to “sit in” for a number or two on Saturday evening please send us an e-mail and we will make every effort to include you. Please send your email to don.glasgow@gulftel.com, lfresch@aol.com or Robslay33@sbcglobal.net www.pianotravelers.com ---------------------------------------------- Of course, last year I arrived on Thursday and missed the meeting because it was held Wednesday night. This year I'm arriving Wednesday afternoon, and leaving Saturday afternoon. If they hadn't moved the $%^@# thing, I wouldn't have missed it ... again! - Frank B. Piano World

Frank, we never care if any one misses the meeting/party, as long as they send in their dues, right Mr Glasgow?

Frank:
Since this is your third NAMM show coming up, you have to change your schedule to include the Piano Traveler's meeting, especially since you are a card carrying member now! Maybe you can even "sit-in" with the band and play a couple tunes on the keyboard (start brushing up on your Keith Emerson licks)! I hope to see you there!

If you show up (and pay your dues), maybe they will let you go around the room and do some of your magic tricks. That would be exciting!

Hi Wilton, Sorry for delay, was returning from China.
Yes, I will be at NAMM of course as we have a booth. Very difficult to say at this stage if I will be free on Sat night but if I am I would like to at least stop by and say hello.
Barring that, please try to stop by our booth and we can introduce ourselves.
Hope to see you.

Ok, I managed to add a night to my hotel, and change my flight. Between the two of them it cost me almost $500.00 more. All I can say is, the Travelers Meeting, and the SoCA NAMM / book signing party ( http://www.pianoworld.com/ubb/ubb/ultimatebb.php?/topic/1/20133.html ) better be worth it!

Now, Frank, we just need to come up with transportation from the Piano Traveler's meeting to the book signing piano party at Steve Miller's house. Maybe PW can spring for a stretch limo???
(just kidding- but if we hire a van or a limo to deliver us to the party, we can split the cost by the number we have); let's see: Vince, Steve, Rich G., Pique, Frank, maybe even Terry!

Somewhere I have a card from a limo service owner I used last year. He was a real character, has some nice cars/limos, willing to wheel and deal.
