So far, the only RIP I have seen in a google search is right here at old PW. Nothing else.

I wasn't able to get to his concert in Norfolk last fall. My loss.

There is this sentence in the Wikipedia article on Pollini:

"In May 2012 it was announced that Pollini had cancelled all his forthcoming appearances in the USA for health reasons."

I guess we can say that's a clearer example of a premature report....

Anyway I think we'd agree that death reports are a thing that we ought to be extremely careful about. Assuming that the nephew tweet is legit, which it does seem to be, even at best the news isn't good. But death is one of those things where we should never take ambiguity as certainty.

It's funny how sometimes the best advice sometimes sounds so obvious! Because, ambiguity is not related to certainty at all. Indeed, it's 6 am, and well into the daytime in Europe and still no news on this.
