Something my tech wanted me to post:

From his 'guy' at Yamaha . .. He noted that the preferred way of taking things apart on the N3 is to leave those two rails that hold all the electronics in place on a tray, and unscrew just the tray part. It means leaving the rails in the piano and having to work around them, but that is what the factory prefers. Nobody knows why.

My tech thought that I should add a comment about leaving the rails in place to this thread. He wouldn't want to lead anyone astray!

Ironically, since working on my N3, he has attended a dealer meeting that included a workshop on how to work on the N3.

Has I said previously, he did make it clear ahead of time that this would be the first N3 that he would be working on. He also did not charge for the extra time he spent, so "no worries"!
