I am happy to say we now have a Steingraeber 212 Phoenix with a Carbon Fiber Sound Board here for a period of time.

I would invite anyone interested to contact me and stop by if they are interested in playing it. We have a small recital room separate from the shop where the piano can be played.

Cheers

Ah. They're pretty nice, eh? I've seen my fair share of them. Simply fantastic!

How's that sound? I've been waiting for someone to take that step and make the soundboard out of CF, not just bits of the action. I'm really curious.

I'm also waiting for the day some crazed organ builder makes a windchest and a set of bourdons out of CF.

A hammered piano, minus the strings. Brilliant!

Beethoven and Stringless,

Yes, the sound is fantastic.

It is something one should hear to appreciate.

Steingraeber actions are also very responsive to play.

The Phoenix Sgteingraeber will be here through NEECSO, The Bill Shull Event on May 12th, as well as several performances through May and June this year.

Bill Shull May 12th
Paul Dykstra May 19
Daria Robotkina June 9th
Mila Filatova Student Recital/fund Raiser June 23rd

Stringless, you are welcome to come by and visit this piano ..

It is an interesting challenge to create synthetic materials that replace the natural ones, that also give us enough of the desirable characteristics of sound we are familiar with.
