I like getting books related to pianos and seen this one available....

The Piano The Pianist

Larry Porter M.M. Piano Performance

Info on the site advertising it is as follows....

READ THIS BOOK If You Believe: Great technique is meaningless if the instrument cannot achieve optimum performance. Pianists Should know the ¿Insides of Their Piano¿ and How They May Best Perform . The Piano Technician Should Play Very Well in order to Understand and Know the Instrument and Client. Not All Piano Tunings are the Same ¿ Some are Worthless. ¿Upright Piano¿ is a ¿Contradiction in Terms¿. Plastics and Composites are for Model Airplanes¿Not Pianos. There are No ¿Good¿ or ¿Bad¿ Pianos ¿ They are the Products of many Specific Elements

Any thoughts on these contents listed?

My first impression in regard to the contents that you listed are drawn to the plastics and composites comment - this is fossilized thinking and puts me off to the book right away.
And there are definitely bad pianos.

Where did you find all those upside down question marks??

This way of talking sound like populism, a way to pretend to higher standards by provocation based on concepts that content apart of truth can be easily disturbing for the common .. Surfing on that so one can understand that the proposed training include the answer to all those questions..

Not to say anything about the content of the training provided by Mr Potter, but I feel that discourse as purely commercials.

That say it may be necessary to defend what remains of that trade, and I'll tend to say that plastics have enough drawbacks to be avoided in many places in an instrument (the first being its lack of resonance

I may say also that to appreciate good/bad aspects of old ways of thinking one may know them deep enough. This is very rarely the case today.

I haven't read the book so I can't comment on how accurate the description of it on sales sites are in regards to actual content. I figured it would be close since that description follows the book where its sold and the author would probably have changed it if it wasn't correct. Did you read the book Doel?

No but it says "READ THIS BOOK If You Believe: x, y, z", so I assume that if you do believe x,y,z this book will set you straight, rather than confirm your beliefs. Clear as mud.
I'd email the author to check before ordering.
