For all the Korngold fans, including me, the Korngold Violin Concerto in D is going to be played by the Berliner Philharmoniker tomorrow:

You can watch it live via internet, as i hope i'll be able to do, and maybe at some point later when it's added to the digital archive.

Concert Program:
Ravel - Ma Mere L'oye
Korngold - Violin Concerto in D (with Leonidas Kavakos)
Strauss - Also Sprach Zarathustra
with Berliner Philharmoniker under Gustavo Dudamel

By the way, did anyone see the documentary about Dudamel, 'The Promise Of Music'? It's a fine one, maybe not as a good as 'They Came To Play' or 'A Trip To Asia', but Dudamel is definitely a fascinating conductor, isn't he?

I almost posted this in this nice little thread that is quite recent:
Erich Korngold plays and hums his music
But since there was no dedicated thread for this awesome composer and his music in general yet, here we go!

So, do you know the concerto? For me, it's too long ago to say anything about it, but i hope that'll change tomorrow at the latest.
